Hyderabad, the capital of Andhra Pradesh is now becoming the capital for health care in India. Big Corporate hospitals like Apollo, Care Hospitals, Yashoda, Kamineni wackards, Global hospitals, Krishna institute of Medical sciences, Star hospitals, Medi city, Image hospitals are some of the hospitals and NIMS, Osmania General Hospital, Gandhi Hospital, Nilopher, Fever hospital, KGH are some of the hospitals of government of Andhra Pradesh, Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital, LV Prasad eye hospital, Sarojini eye hospital are some hospitals working under the managements of trusts are all catering to the health care needs of the people of Andhra Pradesh.

Byrraju foundation as part of social service is looking after the healthcare needs of the poor people of Andhra Pradesh. Now a days the government of Andhra Pradesh is more focusing on the health care of the poor people, and has launched Arogya Sree, which provides health care to the poor people in corporate hospitals of Andhra Pradesh with a link up with health insurance companies.

The government of Andhra Pradesh has earmarked nearly 200 acres for health city near Hyderabad , where in the government of Andhra Pradesh will allot land to the health care industries like hospitals and institutes engaged in R&D of health care products.

Hyderabd, Vizag and Nellore are the places in Andhra Pradesh where many companies are engaged in R&D and manufacture of health care products.

Andhra Pradesh has got separate medical university named as NTR Health University which looks after all the medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh.

So, evaluating all these, we can say that Andhra Pradesh is developing rapidly in health department.
