The natural beauty of Papikondalu will be lost if Polavaram project comes through.
Papikondalu are situated in Eastern Ghats. The river Godavari flows through Papikondalu. This is the place from where Alluri Sitharama Raju has fought the Britishers. He fought Britishers with the help of Koya people and by raiding police stations for weapons.
Reaching Papikondalu:
From Rajahmundry: Rajahmundry can be reached by train, bus or by air from Hyderabad. There are budget hotels where one can stay at Rajahmundry. From Rajahmundry laanchila revu one can take the motor boat or laanchi to Papikondalu. The boat starts at around 9 aAM or 9-30 AM and it passes through Polavaram, Pattiseema, Perantalapalli, Devarakonda and reaches papikondalu. One can stay the night at papikondalu or return back to Rajahmundry. The cruise operators provide breakfast, lunch and dinner in the boat. They charge around INR 500 for individuals. If one opts for independent boat with 25 seats capacity they charge around INR 15,000. From Rajahmundry one can reach bhadrachalam by evening through Papikondalu.
From Pattiseema or Polavaram: Polavaram and Pattiseema are near by and or on the west side of river Godavari. One can take the motor boat from either of these places.
