The West became developed because of the robust infrastructure. The Asian countries came to know this and have started developing infrastructure. The basic Infrastructure like roads, railways, canals, ports, bridges were developed by Britishers in Andhra Pradesh before independence.

After independence Infrastructure was developed in Andhra Pradesh in the areas of industries, irrigation projects, generation of electricity through five year plans. There used to be financial constraints for infrastructure development in Andhra Pradesh. After economic liberalization Indian government allowed FDI in infrastructure projects. Private participation is allowed through BOOT and BOLT. Andhra Pradesh has identified infrastructure development as priority sector. Andhra Pradesh industrial infrastructure corporation is the nodal agency for development of infrastructure in Andhra Pradesh. The government has promoted one more company, INCAP (Infrastructure development corporation of Andhra Pradesh). There are more than 10 big infrastructure development companies in Andhra Pradesh. Public transportation in urban areas like Metros/BRTS/MMTS
Irrigation infrastructure

Industrial Infrastructure

In airports infrastructure Andhra Pradesh is first to get green field international airport at Hyderabad. In Andhra Pradesh one more infrastructure project in airports is coming up at Vizag.

As part of infrastructure development the government of Andhra Pradesh has announced one airport to each district in Andhra Pradesh and one sea port for every coastal district in Andhra Pradesh. All the high ways in Andhra Pradesh are getting uplifted as part of infrastructure development. After the completion of all these infrastructure projects Andhra Pradesh will become developed state.
